Assoc. Prof. Hüseyin Salih Semiz graduated from Ege University Faculty of Medicine in 2008. He completed his internal medicine residency at Celal Bayar University between 2009 and 2013, followed by a fellowship in medical oncology at Dokuz Eylul University between 2014 and 2017. He is currently a faculty member in the Department of Medical Oncology at Dokuz Eylul University Institute of Oncology.
Throughout his academic career, Dr. Semiz has participated in multiple national and international studies focusing on the prognostic and predictive roles of immunological and nutritional biomarkers. He has published extensively on a broad range of solid tumors including gastrointestinal, breast, lung, and endocrine malignancies, with over 50 articles in SCI/ESCI-indexed journals and numerous presentations in scientific meetings.
Currently, his clinical and academic focus is exclusively on “urologic (prostate, bladder, kidney, testicular, adrenal)” and “gynecologic (ovarian, endometrial, cervical, gestational trophoblastic neoplasms)” cancers. He plays an active role in multidisciplinary tumor boards and contributes to contemporary clinical trials in these areas.
He has been recognized with several academic awards including the Uro-oncology Research Award (2024), Best Oral Presentation by the Geriatric Oncology Society (2022), and Breastanbul Runner-Up Presentation Award (2022). He is fluent in English and has completed as well as delivered training in good clinical practice and oncology research methodology.
